Viet United score 11 to pick up 9th win of season

Top of the league, Viet United, were back in action to take on 7th placed, The Blue Pandas. Viet United were the only team who had yet to lose and a game, meanwhile The Blue Pandas were the only team who had yet to win a game.

Luan opened up the scoring in the 3rd minute after the ball was played right across goal into his feet for the easy finish. V. Trinh made it 2-0 in the 7th minute with practically a mirror of Viet United’s first goal and he scored his 2nd goal in the 13th minute following a quickly taken free kick that was blasted into the top right corner. The game was filled with nothing but attack from Viet United. In the 17th minute, Phoutthavongsa got on the scoresheet after a 3 on 1 counter attack found the bottom corner. Viet United’s 5th goal came after a failed Blue Panda attack was gobbled up by the keeper. The ball was sent down the field and three Viet United attackers pounced on the ball until it was played to Le who scored. It was nothing but a flurry of goals from Viet United in the first half and they went into half-time having done all but won the game, leading 5-0.

It wasn’t long after the 2nd half started until Viet United got their 6th goal. Phoutthavongsa stood waiting on the right side of the goal until the ball came to him and he had nothing to do but put his foot through it. Phoutthavongsa topped of his scoring display with a hat-trick in the 31st minute. His long range effort from the right corner of the box made its way through the defenders and the goalkeepers grasp. Unfortunately for the opposition, Viet United’s domination didn’t stop there. Le and Luan each scored their 2nd goals in the 41st and 42nd minute to bring the lead to 9-0. V. Trinh joined Phoutthavongsa as the 2nd hat-trick getter in the 46th minute as the ball was given to him right in front of the net. Lastly, Luan capped off his hat-trick, leaving no one spared, in the 48th minute with practically the last kick of the game.

This game went just as anyone would have expected. Unfortunately for The Blue Pandas, and although short-handed this week, suffer yet another brutal loss. In contrast, Viet United continue their superb run of form and show no signs of slowing down for anyone. With so few games left in the season, Viet United may as well be the best team in the league.
