Unmeggable FC didn’t give a chance to struggling Average Joe’s

In the last game of the fifth round, Unmeggable FC hosted Average Joe’s. Both teams came to this game with totally contrasting forms from the previous matches. On one side, Unmeggable FC, after their first game, started improving game by game and gaining more confidence. On the other side, Average Joe’s had a good start to the competition but started dropping down the league table ever since.

The match’s first chance had Sewak after Kler’s pass, but the home defender was quick enough and blocked his shot. Unmeggable FC took the lead in the second minute. Kler hesitated in the back and lost the ball to Suri, who found the net 1:0. Active Sewak tried his luck in the 4th minute again, but Mohapatra in the home net was ready and quickly picked the ball from the ground. In the 7th minute, Choi sent the ball across the penalty area at Nemri, who tucked the ball in and increased the lead to 2:0. The home team had chance after chance, but Yakoob in the visitor’s net eliminated most of them. In the 12th minute, Ali lost the ball to Nemri, who had no problems scoring against Yakoob in a one-on-one situation 3:0. It took Average Joe’s long 10 minutes to create a chance. Active Sewak took the ball on the half-line and tried his luck from a distance; his shot went wide. The home team struck again in the 16th minute. Choi received the pass from Lim on the right wing, moved the ball to the middle and found the net 4-0. The end of the first half belonged to Unmeggable FC, which scored 3 goals within 3 minutes. Firstly, in the 21st minute, Choi turned with the ball and found the left bottom corner of Joe’s net – 5:0. One minute later, Lim received a pass from Suri in front of the penalty area and released an outstanding shot to the top right corner of the Average Joe’s net – 6:0. Ali had no chance. The last goal of the first half was scored by Aujla (23′) after a lousy kick-off from Ali – 7:0. One minute before the halftime, Choi had a good opportunity from a free-kick, but Souza in the visitor’s net was ready and eliminated the shot. At the half time, the was no doubt about who dictated the tempo.

In the second half, Unmeggable FC started where they left off in the first half. In the 26th minute, Nemri overcame the visiting defender with a fantastic rainbow flick and tried his luck with falling in the penalty box to get a penalty kick. However, the ref saw clearly the whole situation and evaluated it as diving, which VAR confirmed, and the game continued. On the other side, Sewak tried his luck from a distance again, but the home keeper was ready. In the 28th minute, the score changed for the 8th time already. Firstly, Lim’s shot ended on the left post of the visitor’s net, and in the chaotic situation, Aujla got to the ball and tucked it inside the net – 8:0. Average Joe’s had a chance three minutes later, but Hillier’s shot went way over the crossbar. For the next 8 minutes, Unmeggable FC took full control of the game. 32nd minute – Choi received a pass from Aujla and sent it to the right top corner of Average Joe’s net – 9:0 and hat-trick for Choi. 33rd minute – Suri found a bottom right corner of the Average Joe’s net – 10:0. 35th minute – Suri stole the ball from Ali and scored his hat-trick – 11:0. 37th minute – Kler missed the ball, and Mohapatra sent it to the left bottom corner and celebrated his first goal in the competition – 12:0. 40th minute – after the visitor’s corner, Choi took the ball on the edge of his penalty area, overcame two players and after a nice solo, sent the ball to the net – 13:0. Average Joe’s did not give up, though. the same minute Yakoob went through the middle of the home defence and got himself into a good position in front of Nemri’s net. Nemri eliminated his shot, but Hillier’s rebound was too much for him – 13:1. Two minutes later and the home team scored another one! A quick counterattack finished Suri (42′) when he sent the ball around Ali in the net – 14:1. Average Joes struck for the second time in the 44th minute – Hillier’s throw-in got to Tarin, who sent the ball to the net with a nice overhead kick – 14:2. Unmeggable FC wanted more and kept pushing. Suri scored his fifth after a sloppy pass of the home defence – 15:2. In the last minute, Average Joe’s had a corner, but the home defenders cleared the ball and Nemri, just before the final whistle, closed the score at final 16:2 for Unmeggable FC and completed his hat-trick.

The end of the game was up and down and full of emotions. Unmeggable FC showed they need to be taken seriously in the top-of-the-table race. On the other side, Average Joe’s have been struggling with attendance and will have to find their team spirit from the first game.
