Twente Benson’s win streak extended to four following win over Madrid

After a break in action, all four teams returned to action on Sunday night. A hat-trick by Jason Campion and one goal from Cian Kervick led FC Twente Benson to the 4-2 win over Pathetico Madrid. Twente Benson’s win puts them in the midst of a four game and worthy of the best record in the league.

The action in the game started early with Pathetico Madrid scoring the first goal of the game in the 4th minute. A through ball was played directly to Carlos Baragano to lead him to a 1v1 with keeper which he calmly slotted into the net for the game’s opener. Following Madrid’s goal, both teams were pushing for goals, although the chances only resulted in near goals and misses. The chances were equally separated between the two teams for the remainder of the first half until FC Twente Benson’s equalizer. On the verge of half-time, the ball was miskicked into the feet of Campion which resulted in a goal for FC Twente Benson. He picked up the ball from the mishap and made no mistake before scoring with precision. Twente Benson’s goal was the last kick of the first half with the score being tied 1-1 heading into the break.

After leading for the majority of the first half, Pathetico Madrid re-gained their lead in the 33rd minute. A failed clearance by Twente Benson went only as far as the halfway line which allowed Kieran Patchell to be played back onto goal. With little defensive attention, he blasted the ball through the top left corner of the net. However, the lead was short lived as four minutes later, Campion scored his second goal and equalizer of the game. The goal was rapidly set up by FC Twente Benson who speedily escaped their half to construct a counter attack. The ball made its way to Campion who placed his shot off the post and in.

In the 43rd minute, FC Twente Benson were awarded a penalty but the shot was expertly read and denied by the goalkeeper. Although FC Twente Benson made up for that miss as they went in front less than a minute later. Following the miss, FC Twente Benson stopped a Madrid attack, went back on the attack themselves and scored all in the span of sixty seconds. Cian Kervick was unmarked at the back post allowing for an easy tap-in goal. Similar to the first half, FC Twente Benson wrapped up the scoring with the last kick of the game, this time in the 50th minute. Campion once again got in prime scoring position and coolly scored his third to clinch the win for Twente Benson.

FC Twente Benson have won four games in a row, resulting in 23 goals scored and 12 total points on the season for the number one spot in the league through five games. Currently they look to be unbeatable and perhaps, no one has an answer for them. On the contrary, for Pathetico Madrid, two games removed from the name change still yields the same results.
