Strathcona Primo move to top of the table after another big win

Strathcona Primo’s win streak has increased to six after yet another superb performance as they defeated FC Coracran 8-1. These two teams previously met in week two with that game ending with a 6-1 Strathcona win.

In typical Strathcona Primo fashion, they went straight on the attack from the opening minute, scoring two goals in the first minute. As soon as the game started, they began their press which led to FC Coracran making a mistake for Eduardo Verdugo to score the game’s first goal. Joshua Greco followed up mere seconds later with a goal right in front of the net. It would be eleven minutes before Strathcona Primo would score their next goal but they would add four more goals before the half was over. In the 11th minute, Strathcona Primo quickly turned defense into offense with Samuel Harper netting a goal just inside the left post. Five minutes later, they quickly entered FC Coracran’s half which resulted in Harper again having an easy tap-in finish for Strathcona Primo’s fourth goal. Two more goals would be scored in the first half by Estefan Corra and Joshua Grecco in the 19th minute and 21st minute to seal the 6-0 lead heading into half-time.

Out of half-time, the same story as the first half followed with Strathcona Primo having majority of the offensive momentum. Their persistence to increase their lead finally paid off in the 28th minute. They were awarded a free kick and Harper made no mistake, putting the ball away to score the team’s seventh goal and to cap off his hat-trick. In the 31st minute, Strathcona Primo ended the goal scoring onslaught when Devine was left unmarked and drilled a shot just under the crossbar. After allowing seven consecutive goals, FC Coracran finally answered back in the 46th minute when Asael Garcia scored. They applied a high press and forced Strathcona Primo into a turnover. The ball fell into the path of Garcia for him to level the ball past every defender in sight. That would prove to be the last moment of the game as Strathcona Primo would win 8-1.

This was yet another convincing victory for Strathcona Primo as they continue their race to the top of the table. Now having a better goal difference than Serbia United, they are the best team in the league.
