Strathcona Primo dominate MFC Dynamo for another win

Strathcona Primo notched their fourth win of the season after defeating MFC Dynamo 11-7 on Friday night.

In typical Strathcona fashion, they began the game on the front foot, scoring the first two goals of the game. After a turnover made by MFC Dynamo, Strathcona Primo quickly bounced on the ball and netted the first goal of the game in the 3rd minute. Strathcona kept the attack coming in the following minutes, doubling the lead eight minutes later. MFC Dynamo were unable to stop Strathcona’s attack, with Kosta Adzic netting the game’s second goal. The lead was cut in half in the same minute when MFC Dynamo immediately created an attack of their own. A quick counter caught Strathcona off guard, and Miroslav Kovar finished the play with a slick goal. MFC Dynamo continued their firepower one minute later as they equalized. The team in blue used their speed once again, sending a ball across the face of goal for Jan Fillo to score and level the game at 2-2. The deadlock lasted for most of the first half until Strathcona scored two goals in quick succession to take a two goal lead into the break. In the 25th minute, Strathcona Primo were awarded a free kick and the ball was played to Matteo Flex who sent the ball into the left side of the net. Just before the half-time whistle, Strathcona added one more goal when Adzic poked the ball free and scored his second goal of the game.

To begin the second half, just as they usually do, Strathcona Primo jumped out to a giant lead, extending the score to 9-2 by the 37th minute. It was total domination for Strathcona in the second half as goals came left and right for them. There aren’t many ways to describe it other than complete control by Strathcona Primo. However, once the seven goal deficit was created MFC Dynamo went down with a fight, scoring two straight goals. The first goal came from Kovar in the 38th minute who got to the front of the net and tapped in the ball for an easy goal. In the 41st minute, a highly unorthodox goal was scored when Fillo blasted a shot into the crossbar and the ball bounced off Stefan Lukacovsky’s foot and glided into the net. The comeback was short lived when Strathcona came roaring back just a minute later to extend the lead to 10-4. Despite MFC Dynamo’s last few goals in the last minutes, in an attempt to make the scoreline more respectable, this game was well beyond doubt as Strathcona Primo cruised to a comfortable 11-7 win.

This win will serve Strathcona Primo well as they head into next week’s top of the table clash with Tapatios FC.
