Silverbacks net seven in another dominant performance

FC Silverbacks have continued their run of dominance, remaining undefeated after a 9-5 win against the Cookie Monsters.

In typical Silverbacks fashion, they scored with their first shot of the game. They felt little pressure from the Cookie Monsters’ defenders and that allowed Kevin Lee to score the game’s opening goal. Following Silverbacks’ opener, both teams had opportunities to add to the scoring tally, but it was the Cookie Monsters who would equalize in the 18th minute. They went directly into their offense after a goal kick and Nakwon Choi went around multiple defenders before calmly netting the Cookie Monsters’ first goal of the game. After a tightly contested first half, the game was even at 1-1 following the opening 25 minutes.

Out of half-time, FC Silverbacks were determined to make a bigger imprint on the second half. They accomplished what they set out to do, scoring three goals in the first five minutes of the second half. It started with Justin Kang who scored a miraculous goal all the way from his own half which sneakily squeezed past the goalkeeper. He followed up his first goal with another just two minutes later. In the 28th minute, it was another powerful strike that proved to be too much for the goalkeeper to handle to extend the lead to 3-1. Just sixty seconds later, FC Silverbacks once again refused to let the Cookie Monsters exit their own half, which resulted in Grady Mcmanus being played through for a simple 1-on-1 finish with the goalkeeper for Silverbacks’ fourth.

In the 33rd minute, the Cookie Monsters responded back to three unanswered goals from FC Silverbacks. It was a quick counter attack that saw Tenzin Namdhak run through on goal and drill a shot into the net with ease. FC Silverbacks answered with another pair of goals in the 34th minute and 36th minute from Kang and Mcmanus. In the 42nd minute, two consecutive goals were scored in the same minute by Kevin Lee and Kyle Ching. Lee was fed for his second goal and Ching received a pass for a tidy finish in front of goal. The Cookie Monsters rebutted with two goals of their own in the 45th minute and 46th minute. Namdhak expertly dribbled through FC Silverbacks’ defense to play the ball to Cheme for a simple shot and score. Cheme followed up again in the next minute with another 8-4. Anderson Lam scored the FC Silverbacks’ final goal of the game as they disrupted the Cookie Monsters’ attack and Lam sent a powerful shot through the legs of the goalkeeper. The last imprint on the game was Choi’s second goal of the game to seal the final score of 9-5.

Another convincing and all-out dominant performance for FC Silverbacks to extend their win streak to five games. Throughout the course of the season, they have continued to put in some amazing performances week in and week out.
