Silverbacks continue dominance with 7 goal display

FC Silverbacks have continued their dominance with their second consecutive win, this time by the score of 7-1 against The Cookie Monsters. Led by Ethan Lier’s hat-trick, FC Silverbacks cruised to victory.

Immediately from kick-off, The Cookie Monsters were on the attack, scoring with their first shot of the game. They entered FC Silverbacks’ half with speed and the ball was played across the face of goal for Chelsea Novak who easily tapped in the game’s first goal. However, FC Silverbacks did not trail for long as Jake Dinoto and Justin Kang scored two goals in as many minutes to gain the lead that they would never relinquish. With both goals, they made use of their skill and finesse to send two powerful strikes into the net.

Following the opening three goals, The Cookie Monsters had a fair amount of chances to equalize but it was FC Silverbacks who scored the next goal. Off of a miss from The Cookie Monsters, Anderson Lam was left unmarked on the other side of the field for a quick and precise 1-on-1 finish. Lam’s closing first half remarks gave his team a 3-1 lead heading into half-time.

Out of half-time, FC Silverbacks would not let up, continuing their dominance, one-upping their predecessor’s scoring total. In the 26th and 30th minute, Ethan Lier added to the lead with two crafty finishes. His efforts proved to be too skillful with no Cookie Monster defender being able to stop him. For the sixth goal, Dinoto refused to let The Cookie Monsters leave their half, stole the ball and then calmly scored. Lier capped off his hat-truck in the 43rd with a yet another clinical strike.

This was another one more dominant win for FC Silverbacks, gaining a larger lead at the top of the table. With a second straight win, they became the first and only team to reach two wins this season. For The Cookie Monsters, they will look to build something positive into the next game, having dropped game one and two.
