Romania score six in convincing win over MFC Dynamo

Romania defeated MFC Dynamo 6-2 after pulling away in the second half. Led by braces from Daniel Caraiman and Robert Sing, the team in red exploded for a six goal flurry.

These are two tightly contested squads with similar skill levels which only meant this game would be filled with a ton of excitement. To begin the game, it was just as anyone expected as neither were able to create any separation, trading saves and shots. It took until the 13th minute for the deadlock to be broken when Michael Stehlik opened the scoring for MFC Dynamo. The Romania defenders weren’t quick enough to close out on Stehlik and he fired a high-arcing shot into the top right corner of the net for a spectacular opener. The remainder of the first half was a 50/50 split in terms of dominance as Romania and MFC Dynamo had chances to add more ink to the scorecard, but couldn’t. MFC Dynamo led 1-0 at half-time.

Romania were sure to put their missed chances behind them as they equalized almost immediately following the start of the second half. They dispelled an attack from the opposition and turned it into a counter of their own. The ball found the feet of Daniel Caraiman and, from a long way out, he drilled the ball across the face of goal, sliding past the goalkeeper’s dive attempt. Romania weren’t done there, adding another goal two minutes later. The MFC Dynamo defenders were too late to track back which gave Romania too much space in front of the net for Scott Sims to score and take the lead. It was the same story three minutes later with their lackluster defending. No one decided to close down Robert Sing as he scored with zero pressure being applied.

MFC Dynamo responded back one minute later with a very creative free kick goal. In the 34th minute, they were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. MFC Dynamo used a fake shot to get the ball into the box and then played it across the goal for a wide open shot attempt, catching the entire Romania team by surprise from the trick play. Just as the game seemed to be getting close, that’s when Romania put their foot on the gas and put the game out of reach. Much of the goals MFC Dynamo conceded was their own wrongdoing and that pattern continued in the 40th minute when Daniel Caraiman scored his second goal of the game. Another goal came two minutes later as Lucas Reis grew the lead to 5-2 with a bullet of a strike, putting the game out of reach. Robert Sing added one more goal in the 43rd minute with, you guessed it, another shot into an open net.

Romania have won another game, this time in very convincing fashion. Although the lead dwindled to just one goal in the second half, the win never looked like slipping away for Romania. On the other side, MFC Dynamo will have to tighten up their defense if they want to have closer games in the weeks to come.
