No Tobacco and Cannabis Policy

Tobacco and Cannabis policy

The law changed on October 17, 2018. Canada now allows people to have and use cannabis for personal and medical use.

In light of the federal law change, Canada Minifootball wants to clarify its Policy about cannabis and our leagues.

Participants can’t take part while they’re under the influence of marijuana or other drugs.

Rude or disorderly behaviour:

You can’t do this, even if you’re drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, or taking other drugs.
We don’t allow people to use tobacco, cannabis, or smoke-free products (like vaporizers) at any indoor or outdoor locations where we have events. It includes beaches, gyms, municipal or private turf or grass fields, stadiums, and private venues.

This includes but is not limited to:

Smoking is only allowed in certain places if it’s done legally by everyone who smokes.
A player or team that doesn’t follow this Policy could be punished by the league differently.
In addition, if a player breaks a local bylaw or law, they may also be held accountable by the local police. Finally, it costs at least $250 and up to $2000 to smoke in public.

If you are a member or a guest, we ask that you use good judgment and show the utmost respect for everyone else who is there and staff and the general public.
