Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policy before the start of the season

For various reasons, CML may have to cancel or postpone the start of the event (e.g. facility issues, insufficient number of teams, etc.). Teams will receive a full refund of their league fees if CML cancels an event before the season/tournament begins.

Teams registered for an event postponed more than 90 days from the original start date will be fully refunded. If the event can begin to play within 90 days of its original start date, and a team wishes to leave, an administrative fee of $50 and/or 10% (whichever is greater) of the registration fee will be charged to the team. The team will have two options with the remaining amount:

  • Credit 100% worth of the remaining amount, or
  • Refund 70% worth of the remaining amount. CML withholds the remaining 30% to cover the non-recoverable costs associated with the league expenses.

The remaining amount is calculated by:

  • Sign-up fee – (minus) $50 and/or 10% = The remaining amount,
  • e.g. 1 – $1300 – $130 = $1170 (Sign up fee for a league $1300 – $130 fee [10%>$50] = $1170 is the remaining amount)
  • e.g. 2 – $250 – $50 = $200 (Sign up fee for a tournament $250 – $50 fee [$50>10%] = $200 is the remaining amount)

Cancellation policy in the middle of the season

If a league is paused during the season but can resume play within 60 days of the date it was paused, teams will still be scheduled for their full complement of games, and the season may be extended as a result. If teams are unable to be scheduled for their full complement of games as a result of the pause, or if the season must be cancelled as a result of a mid-season pause, teams will have the option of receiving one of the following refund options:

  • Credit 100% worth for all remaining games that were cancelled, or
  • Refund 70% worth for all remaining games that were cancelled.
