Bullying, Discrimination & Harassment Policy

The main goal of CML is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for our members, staff, and participants. Bullying, discrimination, and sexual harassment are not tolerated at CML, and all incidents should be reported through the channels listed below.

All participants must acknowledge and agree to our Code of Conduct; refer to this policy for information on how aggressive or competitive violations of our code of conduct may be handled.s

Bullying

Bullying is defined as repeated and unreasonable behaviour directed at a person or group of people that puts their health and safety at risk. It includes conduct that has the potential to intimidate, offend, degrade, humiliate, undermine, or threaten.

Discrimination

Discrimination is defined as the support or practise of discrimination based on race, religion, age, national origin, language, sex, sexual orientation, or mental or physical handicap, whether or not covered by applicable legislation, except where affirmative action is required to redress individual or social handicaps of people from disadvantaged groups.

Harassment

Sexual harassment is defined as any unwanted sexual advance, unwanted request for sexual favours, or other unwanted sexual conduct that offends, humiliates, or intimidates a person and where that reaction is reasonable in the circumstances. Sexual harassment examples include, but are not limited to:

  • staring or leering,
  • unwanted familiarity, such as intentionally brushing up against you or unwanted touching,
  • suggestive comments or jokes,
  • sexual insults or taunts,
  • intruding questions or statements about your private life,
  • sending sexually explicit content via emails, text messages, social media, or social media,
  • inappropriate advances on social media
  • requests for sex or repeated unwanted requests to go out on dates,
  • physical assault, indecent exposure, sexual assault, stalking, obscene communications, or other examples of potentially criminal behaviour.

Sexual harassment does not include behaviour based on mutual attraction, friendship, or respect.

How to make a complaint?

If you encounter any misconduct during your CML experience, please report it to our email hello@minifootballcanada.ca

Unless otherwise stated by British Columbia law, all complaints will be handled by the CML Board of Directors and treated as confidential. We recognize that these issues must be handled professionally and appropriately.
