Outstanding performance by Viet United and Brazcouver went home empty-handed.

In the sixth round of the competition, Brazcouver hosted Viet United. Everyone was looking forward to this game as both teams hadn’t found a contender who would be able to defeat them yet. Before this game, the home team was still undefeated, while Viet United lost 2 points in the match against Unmeggable FC. Therefore, everyone was hyped, and you could feel the tension in the air.

The first period started. The first chance came right after the kickoff. Rocha found Rech with a nice rabona kick, but Rech’s shot went way over the bar. Viet United responded immediately and, in the second minute, had two chances. The first chance ended behind the goal line but on the wrong side of the net. The second chance came from the cleats of Phoutthavongsa, but his shot went wide. The first goal came in the 3rd minute. Cavalhieri sent a precise lob at Rocha, who chipped the visitor’s keeper with a header on the back post – 1:0. After the conceded goal, Viet United took the game’s initiative and started creating chances. They tried Faria’s attention several times, but the home keeper was always ready. Brazcouver was threatened Viet United mostly from their quick counterattacks and long-range shots. However, H. Nguyen eliminated their chances. In the 14th minute, a huge opportunity came from N. Nguyen when he released a curved ball on the back post of the Faria’s sanctuary. At this moment, the home keeper was already beaten, but the ball hit the post and bounced away – unlucky. Right after this chance, Brazcouver stroke again. After a sloppy pass from Phoutthavongsa, Romeiro (16′) stole the ball, and after a quick combination with Rocha and Ramos, he sent the ball at the first post of H. Nguyen’s net and increased the lead to 2:0. It took Viet United only 1 minute to bring the score difference down to 1 goal. Faria couldn’t hold the ball after N. Nguyen’s sharp shot, and Phoutthavongsa (17′) sent it to the net from a rebound. Viet United had two more chances before the half-time, but Faria eliminated both of them, and Brazcouver went to the half-time with one goal advantage.

The second half started, and the first chance had the home team again. Rocha’s shot almost went in, but H. Nguyen punched it over the bar. Viet United shook off the slow start to the second half and responded with an equalizer! in the 28th minute, a fast-paced combination between Luan, Phoutthavongsa, and Rmah was finished by the third named player with a shot at the left post – 2:2. After that, the game opened, and chances were coming on both sides. Rocha tried H. Nguyen’s attention from a free-kick, but the visiting keeper was ready and pushed the ball for a corner with his fingers. On the other side, active Phoutthavongsa hit the side netting. After that, chances kept coming on both sides; unfortunately, fouls and nervosity as well. As both teams had a desire to win, the game got more physical. In the 41st minute, Tinh scored a goal after a questionable foul and Viet United took the lead – 2:3. At that moment, the home team started protesting against the referee’s decision. After a controversial moment between the referee and one of Brazcouver’s player, the ref called the game.

This game had everything that a proper minifootball game should have – nice football moments, good chances on both sides, emotions, and most importantly, goals! Brazcouver lost the first points in the competition, and Viet United proved that they need to be counted in the title race with one game in their hands! Brazcouver will have a resting week this Thursday, and Viet United can go to the top of the table if they win against The Blue Pandas.
