MFC Dynamo win big in comeback over Brewventus

A high scoring affair saw MFC Dynamo take home a narrow 7-5 win against Brewventus. Led by YamBrayan Perez’s six goals, MFC Dynamo made a huge comeback to win the game.

Two teams on opposite ends of the table were ready to do battle. It only took three minutes for the first goal of the game, with Brewventus gaining the first edge. A first shot that took a deflection made its way into the path of Himanish Goyal, who was in the right place at the right time, to give Brewventus the early 1-0 lead. Brewventus went right back on the attack following the game’s opener, scoring two minutes later. They entered MFC Dynamo’s half with speed and precision, sending the ball across the field to a wide-open Cameron Govender for a calm right footed finish. The flurry of scoring wasn’t done there as in the same minute Brewventus were back on the attack. The ball was passed to a unmarked Brendan McGeachen in the center of the box, and he easily increased the lead to 3-0.

In the next minute the scoring continued, but this time MFC Dynamo were the ones adding to the scoresheet. YamBrayan Perez dribbled through multiple Brewventus defenders, and no one could stop him before he quickly sent the ball into the net to lower his team’s deficit. The goal scoring slowed down for the remainder of the first half but that didn’t mean either team was done scoring. After an unsuccessful clearance attempt by MFC Dynamo, the ball fell to Govender for his second goal of the game. In the 24th minute, Brewventus had a free kick from a long way out and somehow the ball miraculously found the back of the net when Rohil Patel set the ball past everyone and everything into the net. MFC Dynamo scored the last goal of the first half when Perez sent a powerful shot into the roof the net for a 5-2 game.

The second half started with MFC Dynamo on the attack as they scored their third goal in the 27th minute. Brewventus couldn’t clear their half and instead the ball fell again to Perez who made no mistake in front of goal and secured his hat-trick. In the 31st minute it was Perez again roaring in front, leading MFC Dynamo’s attack. He stormed down the wing and drilled the ball into the net, and suddenly the comeback was no longer out of reach for MFC Dynamo. The momemtum was too much for Brewventus to handle as the lead finally slipped away in the 37th minute. A ball was played into the penalty area, and this time Goyal was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he sent the ball into his own net to even the game.

As the game was ending, both teams desperately searched for an equalizer. They each had their own chances but the deadlock couldn’t be broken. The game stayed level until the 46th minute when none other than Perez was back firing shots at the Brewventus net. The defense refused to close down on him, and he made them pay and gave MFC Dynamo the lead in the closing moments of the game. Perez was unstoppable for the entire game and it was solidified in the 48th minute when he scored his sixth goal of the game.

What a comeback win for MFC Dynamo, and what a display of pure ruthless attack from YamBrayan Perez. While MFC Dynamo looked like they had no chance of comeback, they stayed together and pulled out a gutsy win.
