MFC Dynamo advance to next round after convincing win over Rats United
MFC Dynamo have punched their ticket to the next round after defeating Rats United 8-2 in the opening round of the playoffs.
It was no surprise that MFC Dynamo were the first team to score, just as they had done for the entire season. Within the opening sequence of the game, all attention was on the right side of the pitch, leaving the entire left side empty for Vaclav Cahyna to wander in, without any resistance, and score the game’s opener. It would not take long for MFC Dynamo to add another as it was Cahyna again who doubled the advantage in the 8th minute. A corner was sent in to the near post and Cahyna was the first to react and put the ball past the goalkeeper.
Nine minutes later, MFC Dynamo were back on the attack but this time it was Jan Fillo who scored after rebounding a save made by the goalkeeper by putting it in the net. On the brink of half-time, MFC Dynamo added one more goal when they quickly took a corner, catching Rats United off guard, and Vaclav Cahyna drilled a shot through the net. After 25 minutes of play, MFC Dynamo led 4-0.
Heading into the second half, MFC Dynamo followed the exact pattern of the first half. Immediately from the first whistle, MFC Dynamo were back on the attack, scoring in the 27th minute. They controlled the tempo on the attack and with a few quick passes, they were at the front of the net for an easy finish for Michael Stehlík. Six minutes later, Jan Fillo was back in prime scoring position for another wonder strike that went past every defender in sight and rolled into the net.
In the 38th minute, Rats United finally got on the board with their first goal of the game. After countless attacks from MFC Dynamo, Rats United escaped their half, creating an attack of their own. The ball was played into the feet of Clement Yip who took one touch which was powerful enough to squeeze past the goalkeeper for Rats United’s opening goal.
Just one minute later, MFC Dynamo were back on the attack as they scored their seventh goal of the game. Cahyna held off the Rats United defenders before drilling a shot into the bottom corner for his fourth goal. In the 44th minute, Cahyna scored another goal but it was not for his team, it was for Rats United. A goal kick was played from the Rats United’s box into the path of Cahyna who miraculously took a touch and sent the ball into his own net. With that own goal, Rats United were awarded another goal to make it 7-2. The final goal of the game was scored in the 47th minute when Cahyna was back scoring in the right net to clinch the 8-2 win.
After a comfortable performance, MFC Dynamo earned the right to advance. Following a great regular season, they followed up their play just as well in the playoffs. They will play Serbia United in the semi-finals on Friday, July 22nd.
