FC Silverbacks continue dominance with 4th straight win

FC Silverbacks have continued their dominance with their fourth consecutive win, this time by the score of 7-1 against The Brownies. Led by Ethan Lier’s four goals, FC Silverbacks cruised to victory.

It took longer than usual for FC Silverbacks to get on the attack but they scored their first goal in the 9th minute. After a long string of possession, the ball made its way to Ethan Lier who dribbled through multiple defenders before drilling a shot into the right corner of the net. 10 minutes later, FC Silverbacks doubled their lead. Once again, Lier put on a series of significant dribble moves to have enough space to score and make it 2-0 just before half-time.

Similar to the first half, it took a while for the first goal of the second half to be scored. It was none other than Lier again to triple the goal scoring tally. FC Silverbacks disrupted one of The Brownies’ attempts on goal and Lier ran the length of the pitch and to the front of the net with little resistance for a simple, light finish. After putting his mark on the entire game, Lier added the final touches with his and the team’s fourth goal of the game. FC Silverbacks made use of the less than ideal defending from The Brownies with Lier turning onto goal for another effective finish.

After FC Silverbacks’ fourth goal, The Brownies made sure they wouldn’t go down without a fight, scoring their first goal in the 45th minute. Nambiar had plenty of space to continue going forwards into FC Silverbacks’ half and finally let off a shot that found the back of the net. Four minutes later, the last goal of the game was scored. They scored a miraculous goal from a free kick with a shot that went over everyone into the top corner of the goal.

This was another dominant win for FC Silverbacks, gaining a larger lead at the top of the table. Despite the mini comeback from The Brownies, it proved to be too little and too late. With a fourth straight win, FC Silverbacks became the first and only team to reach four wins this season. For The Brownies, they will look to build something positive into the next game, having picked up one point in their last two games.
