FC Finesse return to winning ways with a convincing victory over Average Joes

FC Finesse returned to the field following a 4-1 loss to Brazcouver last week. They were still in pursuit of a finish near the top of the table, having won and lost two games. Average Joes were on the other side of the spectrum. Although with one win to their name, they entered the affair with the league’s worst goal difference of -41.

From the beginning whistle, FC Finesse were on the front foot but shut out due to a solid defensive effort from The Average Joes. The effort was unsustainable though as Adeyemi and Agu scored in the 8th minute to give FC Finesse a 2-0 lead. In the 12th minute, a beautiful ball was played to Afuberoh who took a strike from outside the penalty that found the bottom corner. FC Finesse continued their dominance to end the 1st half and went into the break leading 3-0.

Average Joes came out of the gates quick but couldn’t capitalize on one of their few chances in the game. FC Finesse would make them rue their shortcomings when Adeyemi scored his 2nd goal of the game in the 26th minute. Duyile had a great solo run from his own half to make it 5-0 and practically put the game out of reach. Duyile doubled his scoring tally and by the 36th minute, FC Finesse had scored 8.

FC Finesse put a disappointing performance in their last game behind them and were able to get back on track with their 3rd win of the season. FC Finesse also picked up their 1st clean sheet of the season.  The Average Joes’ run of bad form continues as they’ve suffered their 4th straight loss. They were shut out for the 2nd time this season and will hope for a momentum shift next week.
