What are the skill level definitions?

This is how Canada Minifootball skill level descriptions are written:

CML categorizes players into 3 groups:

  • Novice player – (0-4 years of playing soccer)
  • Intermediate player – (4-10 years of playing soccer)
  • Competitive player – (10+ years of playing soccer)

Skill based league recommendations:

  • Recreational leagues – Novice players & Intermediate players
  • Semi-competitive leagues – Intermediate players & Competitive players
  • Competitive leagues – Competitive players

Recreational Leagues 

Best for novice and early intermediate recreational skill players. The majority of the players on the teams might be new to the game or haven’t been playing for a long time. Players should have a basic understanding of the game and are required to know the Canada Minifootball rules and regulations.

Semi-Competitive Leagues

Best for intermediate and early competitive skill players. The majority of the players on the teams have played the game for at least 5-10 years. Players should have a good understanding of the game and are required to know the Canada Minifootball rules and regulations.

Competitive Leagues

Best for competitive skill players. All of the players on the teams have played the game young age. Players should have a full and comprehensive understanding of the game and are required to know the Canada Minifootball rules and regulations.
