Would you like to register your team into our league but don’t know how? We have a step-by-step guide for you! Just click on THIS link!
You can register as an “Individual Player” if you don’t have a team! The registration is done through the league page you’re interested in. Simply click on the “Register as an Individual” button and follow the steps. If you need help with the registration, please see our Step-by-Step guide on how to register as an individual player!

You’ll be placed into a team of individual players or added to another if they are short on players. Individual players’ fees cover all expenses, including tax, membership, insurance, referees, highlights, etc.

You can also try your luck to find a team through our Find Teams or Players page! See if some teams are looking for players, or just fill out your name and contact information and say something about yourself! Maybe coaches will be looking just for you!

Yes, we do! All our leagues are officiated with referees! In a matter of fact, all the referees are already included in the price for the league!

Would you like to become a referee?! Please let us know! We will be happy to give you more information about our program! If you’d like to apply, please click HERE!

We understand that sometimes the game can get heated, but please keep in mind, that all our referees are just people and MUST be treated with respect like any other humans! CML will always protect their referees! Unsporting behaviour toward referees might be penalized based on the severity stated in the Fines and Penalties!

We have prizes for the top 3 teams as well as for the top scorer in the league:
  • The league champions – Golden cup & medals
  • Runner-up – Silver cup & medals
  • Third place – medals
  • Top scorer – Trophy for the top scorer

In the near future, we will be coming up with more and more valuable prizes! Stay tuned!

Our leagues take place at UBC, Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond, and Burnaby fields. Please keep in mind that leagues may not be available in all locations every season. The majority of the leagues are outdoor and follow the European system, therefore there are no playoffs. We are looking to expand to Surrey and Coquitlam as well.
Rainy days are not ideal to bring your families to watch your games; however, generally speaking, unless standing water is on the field, Canada Minifootball League games are played in any weather, even if it rains and snows.

Check the Canada Minifootball site and social media to find out if play will happen. If there is no news, games are being played as planned.

If games have to be called, all coaches and players will be notified by email.

A team that doesn’t show up for a game that Canada Minifootball has set up will be called a “no-show” and penalized by the Canada Minifootball No-Show policy. The policy is the same for everyone.

If games are cancelled (sometimes due to weather — for example, snow on the fields — or other factors beyond our control), we will do our best to reschedule those games at a later date using locations and game times as close to the original times as possible to complete the league by the original end date. This may require teams playing doubleheaders to make up these games.

Sometimes, the league’s end date may be extended to accommodate make-up games, but this is not always possible. Teams will be compensated for any lost games if games cannot be made up.

If the season is cancelled before its start or during the season, the Cancellation Policy apply.

Teams captains/Coaches are required to add all of their players to the team roster prior to their first game.

Players who are not listed on the team roster will not be allowed to participate in the event. Team rosters will be checked by a referee before each game.

A guide on how to build a roster as a Coach can be found on THIS page!

Unfortunately, drop-in players are not allowed in the competition unless:

  • They have a team and are listed on the roster,
  • Finalize the player registration to a team,
  • Upload their government-issued ID or birth certificate,
  • Sign and agree to the CML waiver and Code of conduct, and
  • Pay the player registration fee.

Without these three steps, players will not be able to be added to the team roster and play in the competition!

CML categorizes players into 3 groups:

  • Novice player – (0-2 years of playing soccer)
  • Intermediate player – (3-9 years of playing soccer)
  • Competitive player – (10+ years of playing soccer)

Skill based league recommendations:

  • Recreational leagues – Novice players & Intermediate players
  • Semi-competitive leagues – Intermediate players & Competitive players
  • Competitive Leagues – Competitive players

No, you don’t! Any player can register his team as a “Coach”. This role allows the individual to manage the team and have administrative rights within the team. This individual can also be a player!
Yes, you can! You can be a player, a coach and a manager at the same time! There are no limitations on how many roles one individual can have within a team!
The CML player fee is $20 per player, coach, official, volunteer, or member per season. This fee is administered by the Canadian Minifootball Federation. The fee enables minifootball to continue growing, developing, and managing minifootball by providing programs for various ages and skill levels (from recreational to competitive), educational opportunities, and access to exclusive benefits and services.
