Close game sees Coracran take 3rd win of the season

FC Coracran are victorious after a game with South Army FC went down to the wire. Only one goal could separate the teams as Coracran took home a late 5-4 win.

South Army FC were hoping for a better result than previous weeks, having just one win from four games. They were firing from the minute the whistle was blown, scoring two goals in the first nine minutes to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Both goals were wonderfully and perfectly crafted to leave the defenders and goalkeeper with no chance to stop the attacks. However, that lead would quickly dwindle as FC Coracran came back with two goals of their own to tie the game just before half-time. After a back-and-forth first half, the game was a deadlock at two goals a-piece.

Following half-time, FC Coracran kept their momentum from the first half going, scoring the first goal of the second half in the 28th minute. FC Coracran refused to let South Army FC leave their half and a powerful shot was sent into the corner to take the lead. Despite coming back from a 2-0 deficit, it was not enough by FC Coracran as South Army FC equalized just five minutes later and then regained the lead in the 36th minute. The theme of this game was “anything you can do, I can do better” and that was more evident than ever when FC Coracran equalized the game at 4-4 in the 41st minute.

It looked as if the game was heading to a tie as both teams had multiple chances but no way could break free. That was until Abraham Ayón scored his hat-trick in the 46th minute to seal the winner for FC Coracran. After a game with chances coming left and right for both teams, FC Coracran kept going until the final whistle, proving they had enough endurance and skill to pull off the monumental win.
