Burnaby Offside defeat Brownies after goal-filled outing

Burnaby Offside FC are catching fire as they defeated the Brownies in the tenth game of the season. They jumped out to a ginormous six goal lead in the first half as Amer Qureshi guided the team with a tremendous six goals in the opening twenty minutes. 

From the opening whistle, Burnaby Offside FC were ready to start their blistering attacking. In just the first minute, they awarded a quick free kick with the ball played into the box and Theo Boucherie got a touch with his head at the near post to send it into the net. Three minutes later, they were back on the attack and Amer Qureshi was able to tap-in a shot with the goalkeeper scrambling outside the net after saving Burnaby Offside’s first strike. Their third goal of the game came three minutes after the second when Qureshi was on the scene again with another tap-in after Burnaby Offside dispossessed the Brownies resulting in another counter attack.

After going 3-0 in the opening six minutes, Burnaby Offside FC were nowhere finished with their attack. They quadrupled the lead in the 11th minute when they quickly turned defense into offense and none other than Qureshi was in front of the net for another simple finish. 

In the 14th minute, the Brownies finally stopped the bleeding when they scored their first goal to end four unanswered goals from Burnaby Offside. Evan Elsaesser was able to get into prime scoring position and he sent a strong, clinical strike into the bottom of the net. However, just a minute later the four goal lead for Burnaby Offside FC was restored when Qureshi tapped in another shot at the front of the net. He added two more goals before the half was over to give his team a 7-1 lead heading into half-time. 

It took a while for the first goal of the second half to be scored but it finally happened in the 30th minute when a quick passing counter attack led to Bijhan Hirani getting a tap on the ball to cut the deficit to 7-2. The Brownies kept their attack coming and in the 42nd minute another goal came. This time from Rtvik Nambiar who was left wide open on the right side of the field and his strong strike went past multiple defenders and into the net. In the 48th minute, Sajjad Mirza scored the final goal of the game when he let off a shot from a tight angle which made its way across the net and into the goal for the Brownies’ fourth goal.

Despite a late comeback effort from the Brownies, Burnaby Offside FC were able to keep the lead intact due to the outstanding first half performance. This was their fourth straight win as they moved to 18 points while they sit in third place, just one point behind Unmeggable FC.
