Brazcouver win the league after thriller with Viet United

Brazcouver are officially the best team in the league after beating Viet United 6-5 to win the league in the final game of the season. It took 11 goals to decide the title between the two heavyweights of the division.

It never matters who Brazcouver is playing for them to start the game blazing hot, even if their opposition is the best team in the league. Without a minute played, Brazcouver had already taken a 1-0 lead after making their very first chance count. After a failed Viet United attack, Brazcouver quickly countered but the ball was intercepted by Viet United and played back to the keeper. However, the ball was kicked directly into the path of Silvio Rocha who took one touch and slotted the ball into the net.

Three minutes later, Brazcouver was back on the attack, this time at the end of a corner. Bruno Santos volleyed the ball from way outside the penalty box into the top right corner of the goal. Brazcouver was leading 2-0 within three minutes, continuing their streak of scoring at least one goal within the first five minutes of the game.

Brazcouver and Viet United last played each other in the 6th week of the season with Viet United taking the 3-2 win after goals from Phoutthavongsa, Rmah and Tinh. This win handed Brazcouver their only loss of the season and Viet United had been on top of the league ever since.

In the 10th minute, Viet United scored one of the most unorthodox goals ever. While in possession of the ball, the goalkeeper, Nam Nguyen, came up to the halfway line and fired a shot past all the defenders in front and into the net to cut Brazcouver’s lead to 2-1.

In the 15th minute, perhaps an even more unorthodox goal was scored by Brazcouver. Directly from a corner, Felipe Neves caught the entire Viet United defense off guard and squeezed his shot attempt past the right post. Chances were plenty for the remainder of the first half but goals were not. Brazcouver was leading 3-1 at the end of the first half.

Brazcouver scored their 4th goal in the 29th from Rocha as the Viet United goalkeeper was found wandering outside of the box, resulting in an open net. Brazcouver was starting to run away with the game as they led 4-1 within 29 minutes.

Two minutes later following a free kick, Vinh Nguyen scored Viet United 2nd goal after his quick and strong strike found the top left corner of the net.

Brazcouver rebutted Viet United’s efforts with two goals in two consecutive minutes from Lucas Viana Monteiro and Rafael Cavalhieri. After Viet’s Minh Chung was shown a yellow card, Viana Monteiro’s free kick from Brazcouver’s half soared over everyone, including the goalkeeper’s grasp and into the net. Rafael Cavalhieri added a 6th goal for Brazcouver immediately following Viana Monteiro’s goal after the goalkeeper was caught off of his line and Cavalhieri fired a shot from his own half, across the entire field, into the net.

In the 41st minute, Nguyen scored his 2nd goal and Viet United’s 3rd goal. His shot from outside the penalty box took a deflection on its way towards the net to decrease the deficit to three. He scored his 3rd goal six minutes later in the 47th minute after deflecting a long range strike into the goal. 

As the minutes wore down, Viet United began to put pressure on Brazcouver who had begun to sink deeper towards their own net. In the 50th minute, Rmah found himself in front of goal to net Viet United’s 5th goal of the game and their 3rd consecutive goal. However, that was practically the last kick of the game as the game was called to a halt with Brazcouver taking the close 6-5 win.

With this win, Brazcouver’s dominance is set in stone as they take the crown as the best team in the league. Brazcouver finishes the season with 11 wins and 1 loss and the most goals scored with 130 and the least goals conceded with 21.

Viet United end the season in 2nd place with 10 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss as well as the 2nd most goals scored and goals conceded with 90 and 26, respectively.
