Brazcouver – another day, another win

After a week off, Average Joe’s returned on the field facing Brazcouver. The first game against The Ble Pandas FC ended in favour of Average Joe’s, but now they were facing a really tough opponent. Brazcouver hasn’t lost a game yet; actually, they crushed every opponent by a mile.

Even though there are 12 players on Average Joe’s roster, they had problems with an insufficient number of players before the kick-off. Not sure if they got scared by their opponent, but eventually, they got the starting 6 together, and the game started. Brazouver demonstrated their strength from the first minute and showed that the weakened Average Joe’s are no match for them. The first chance of the game had Brazcouver. The one-touch combination between Cavalhieri and Silva was finished with a shot on the left post by Cavalhieri. The ball hit the post and went straight to the net – 3rd minute – 1:0. One minute later, Silva sent a shot at Tarin in the Average Joe’s net. It looked like an easy save for the visiting keeper, but unfortunately, the ball slipped through his gloves and ended in the net for Average Joe’s – 2:0. Unlucky. In the 7th minute, Average Joe’s had a corner that Brazcouver was able to defend, and from the upcoming counterattack, Cavalhieri scored his second goal in the match – 3:0. In the 12th minute, the visiting defence let Jesus shoot from in front of the penalty area, and the home attacker found the left bottom corner of the net – 4:0. In the next 5 minutes, Brazcouver had a couple of half-chances – Cavalhieri (14′) missed the net; Rech (15′) chose a shot into the side netting instead of a pass at Romeiro, who was alone in front of the empty net; and Rech (16′) was denied by Ng in the visitor’s net. In the 17th minute, the Average Joe’s Tarin ran alone at the home keeper but was fouled by Viana, and the ref ordered a free-kick from a promising position. This could have been a card from the home defender. Sewak took charge of the free-kick; unfortunately for the visitors, he hit the players in the wall, and the ball rolled for the corner. The home defence has cleared the following corner, and the upcoming counterattack of two against the keeper ended with a goal for Brazcouver. The goalscorer was Viana (18′), who received a pass from Melo – 5:0. The next goal came after a couple of seconds. A short pass from the kick-off was intercepted by Rech (19′), and he didn’t hesitate aginst Ng in the net and change the score again – 6:0. In the 20th minute, Viana scored again. He got the ball under control in front of the visitor’s box and, with a nice shot on the back post, increased to 7:0. Average Joe’s had another chance in the 22nd minute. Tarin received a pass from midfield but, from a sharp angle, couldn’t overcome Osorio. Before the halftime, the home team scored one more time. In the 23rd minute, Santos received a pass from Melo and didn’t give Ng a chance – 8:0. Nothing else happened, and Average Joe’s had an opportunity to regain some strength and discuss their tactic for the second half.

The beginning of the second half belonged to Brazcouver again. After changing sides, Silva got to the ball on the edge of the penalty area and sent the ball to the left corner of Ng’s net – 9:0. Average Joe’s got into a couple of chances in the coming minutes. Firstly, Sewak (26′) tried his luck and, from the sideline, released a shot; however, Osorio was ready and caught the ball. The second chance came one minute later when Tarin ran with the ball by the left sideline and found active Sewak with a nice pass, but Sewak’s shot was neutralized by Osorio. Kler changed Ng in the visitor’s net and made a great save in the 28th minute against Cavalhieri, and denied his hat-trick. Ramos made Kler shine again when in the 29th minute sent a shot aiming between Kler’s leg, but the keeper was able to react quickly and denied Ramos. In the 29th minute, Ng received the ball from Sewak in the midfield and released a long-shot aiming at the top corner; unfortunately, the ball hit the crossbar. The biggest opportunity of Average Joe’s by far! Brazcouver didn’t get scared by an improved performance of Average Joe’s and showed them who was in charge. In the 29th minute combination between Cavalhieri and Silva finished the second named player to an empty net – 10:0. Two minutes three Brazcouver players went against Hillier, who stayed as a lonely defender, and after a short pass from Cavalhieri, Santos netted another one – 11:0. The rest of the game was clearly under the Brazcouver’s control. Even with an outstanding performance from Kler in the net, Brazcouver was able to score 5 more goals. In the 37th minute, Melo tucked it in after a great pass from the other side of the field. The same player exchanged the ball with Rech in the 40th minute, who returned the ball in front of an empty net, and Melo had an easy job. In the 41st minute, Viana completed his hat-trick after a pass from the sideline. One minute later, with an acrobatic shot, Melo scored his third goal in the game. Average Joe’s were capable of creating one more chance to endanger Osorio’s net. Osorio hasn’t had much work during the game, but he excelled against Hillier’s chance. Hillier received the ball after a combination between Lee and Sewak and released a shot on the first post. As mentioned above, the home keeper was ready and denied the shooter. The final goal came from the cleats of Ramos in the 43rd minute. In a situation 3-on-1, Ramos overcame Kler with a shot on the first post and closed the score at 16:0 for Brazcouver.

Average Joe’s showed a spirit, but having no substitutes and the opponent’s quality was too much to handle. Hopefully, we will see them in full strength next week. On the other hand, Brazcouver’s quality secured them the first spot in the table and are the only team without losing a point.
